9:00-10:30 am PART 1: Probate and Estate Issues Surrounding Title to Real Property Upon Death:  Part I of this course will focus on practical questions that title agents must be able to answer whenever it appears that a death has occurred by someone in title to real estate.  Relevant title concepts will be discussed with reference to applicable statutes.  In addition, various commonly occurring fact patterns   are proposed with a discussion of the types of questions a title agent must ask to conclude the status of title.

10:45-12:15 pm – PART 2: Details, Details! A look into Draftsmanship, Surveys & Legal Descriptions:  Part II  will discuss reading and interpreting surveys, how to write out a legal description from a survey, and good draftsmanship. We will also discuss when a legal description passes muster and what you can do when it doesn’t.
