 This annual program produced by the Tennessee Bar Association and the Tennessee Land Title Association offers advanced topics in real estate for Tennessee lawyers. This year's program will return with our annual favorites: legislative updates and case law updates. New this year are two sessions focusing on hot issues in cyber security. Other topics include tax sales, commercial underwriting and sovereign citizens and squatters.

      Special Agent Scott Augenbaum of the FBI is going to explain how and why Cyber Criminals are stealing millions of dollars out of the Nashville market and              what  steps we can take to be safe.

    This session will focus on the challenges that delinquent real estate tax sales present to closing attorneys, closing agents and title insurers in the State of                  Tennessee.  Included in the presentation will be a look at the tax sale from beginning to end, as well as practical tips to assist in title claim avoidance.

    The review will include a detailed discussion of legislation passed and defeated in the 2017 General Assembly, as well as a discussion of anticipated legislation        for 2018. The audience will gain an understanding of the new laws impacting the land title industry.
