COURSE DESCRIPTION
Part I of this course will examine key areas surrounding the receipt and disbursement of funds associated with residential real estate closings, including the Tennessee Good Funds law, the Foreign Investment in Real Property Tax Act (FIRPTA), and money laundering.
Part II of this course will focus on various entities including LLC’s, corporations, partnerships, trusts and non-incorporated religious groups, the authority of their respective officers and members to execute deeds and other legal documents on behalf of these entities, and the documentation required to support said authority. In addition, attendees will receive insight on the proper notary acknowledgements to use when a non-individual entity is involved, and there will be a discussion of Powers of Attorney and their proper use.
